Get to know our member Mette Asmussen, Partner at Advodan, who talks us through her involvement in Interact Law, how it has benefitted her practice and what success looks like.
How are you involved in Interact Law?
I am a lawyer and partner at Advodan. My primary field of expertise is labour law, M&A, commercial contracts, and general business matters. Within Interact Law I am mainly involved in the labour law and immigration areas, and I have contributed to several joint publications in this regard. In recent years, I have participated in specialist meetings relating to my practice area and in the annual conferences twice a year.
How has the network benefited your practice so far?
My office has been a member of Interact Law for several years, and I have been active in the network for around 5 years.
Over time, our membership has led to several important and exciting cases, but more important it has led to a close and rewarding collaboration with other lawyers within the network. It is a huge advantage to be able to refer clients within the network and have a fundamental trust that whatever legal need they may have it will be handled by highly professional and skilled lawyers.
At the annual conferences, we have the opportunity to discuss and debate relevant and up-to-date topics. This is a great way to share best practices from all around the world which is very beneficial both in leadership and doing business. It has also given me valuable insight in alternative ways to handle issues such as labour shortages, retention of key employees, AI etc. The conferences encourage us to consider innovative ideas on how to do smart business, which is both beneficial to clients and within my own organisation.
What does success look like to you?
Success for me is primarily about being an accessible, skilled and useful legal resource for my clients and my other professional relationships. But professional success, in my view, cannot stand alone, and can only be fully achieved if balance is present in other facets of one’s life at the same time.
Future success therefore depends on whether we “dare” to make better use of new technology, and being innovative in how we create the best results for our clients and our own businesses.
