Danilo Mininel is one of the founders of São Paulo-based Madrona Advogados. This firm started in 2015, growing rapidly from seven to 15 partners and from 48 to 76 fee earners. In his presentation, Mininel shared the details of what they learned in their growing experience.

Brazilian economy looks like a chicken flight

At Interact Law, we do not only say we are a group of friends, we also behave as friends do. Danilo Mininel really expressed this by candidly sharing his firm’s mistakes during their initial years of fast growth, which shows they really want to move forward. Mininel made a hilarious analogy when describing the market where the firm operates. ‘The Brazilian economy is developing, but it looks like a chicken flight’, Danilo says. ‘It runs a few metres, flies a bit, falls down, starts running again, flies a bit more…’

Here are some of the takeaways from Mininel’s presentation:

  • Invest in a strong HR to manage and develop people;
  • See the back-office as an investment instead of a cost;
  • Invest in strategic planning to define what you want to achieve and in a brand that translates who you are;
  • Invest in technologies so your team can focus on the job.
