In early May 2024, Interact Law held its twice-annual International Conference in New York, bringing together over 30 members from across the globe. The event, generously hosted by member firms Shook, Hardy & Bacon, Westerman Ball, and Ivie McNeill Wyatt Purcell & Diggs, featured a packed schedule of social activities, client panels, networking and team-building sessions.

Highlights of the New York conference included speakers from renowned organisations like Tata Consumer Products, Booking.com, and an ex-MUFG in-house counsel leading client panels moderated by Interact Law host member firms on critical topics including:

o Lessons Learned from Interact Firms Cooperating on a Major Bankruptcy Case

o How We Can Chase You Away – Best Practices for Attracting and Keeping Clients

o Doing Business Without Borders

Members actively participated in Q&A discussions at the end of each session, and it was clear that they enjoyed hearing directly from key stakeholders on how to cultivate a strong client mindset. Member feedback was that this was a fantastic new addition to the conference programme, and it is something we plan to continue at future conferences.

Internal New York conference member sessions on the second day of our gathering covered:

o Achievements from the Prague International Conference in November 2023 till now;

o Best practices regarding securing referrals and new members as we look towards the future;

o Problem-solving workshops (based on Codev);

o How to use the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritise tasks in both professional and personal contexts; and

o Next steps for Interact Law and how to grow the network. The New York conference ended with a fun sightseeing experience around mid-town on The Ride – a unique bus tour where the streets of the city came alive in a theatrical adventure.
