We are so pleased that Dominique Mattmann, from our Swiss member firm Wenger Vieli, joined the Interact Law board in May 2026! Get to know Dominique and chat about how she hopes to impact the direction of Interact Law, how her background adds value to Board discussions, and her history with the network.
How do you hope to impact the Board and the direction of Interact Law?
Having been closely involved in Interact Law for several years – and in particular through founding and co-leading the Young Lawyers Group – I have seen firsthand how valuable it is to create opportunities for younger lawyers to connect, engage, and contribute early on. I see it as an important part of my role to bring this perspective into the discussion.
I hope to further strengthen the focus on the next generation within the network and to ensure that Interact continues to provide a platform where young lawyers can build meaningful international relationships early in their careers. In my view, these early connections often evolve into long-term professional and personal relationships, which are ultimately one of the core strengths of the network.
Also, coming from a start-up and venture capital background, I’m used to working in a fast-moving environment that requires pragmatic and flexible approaches. I’d like to support initiatives that keep the network dynamic and open to new ideas. More generally, I hope to contribute to preserving the open and collaborative culture that makes Interact Law unique.
How do you see your background and skillset adding value to the Board’s discussions?
Building and co-leading the Young Lawyers Group has had a big influence on how I approach collaboration. It has given me the opportunity to bring together peers from different jurisdictions and encourage open and honest dialogue. I believe this allows me to contribute a perspective that is both forward-looking and closely connected to the next generation of lawyers.
At the same time, my work advising start-ups and investors in venture capital transactions brings a slightly different angle. It’s a very dynamic area, where solutions are not always straightforward and require a mix of creativity, pragmatism and balance. It also involves working closely with founders and international investors, where commercial thinking and relationship-building are just as important as legal expertise.
I hope to bring that mindset into Board discussions – practical, solution-oriented, and open to change – while helping the network continue to evolve in line with the needs of a new generation of clients and lawyers alike.
What is your / Wenger Vieli’s history with the network? How has it helped your practice and your career?
Wenger Vieli has been part of Interact Law for a couple of years now, and the network is an important element of our international reach. On a personal level, joining Interact Law very early in my career was a defining experience. It gave me the chance not just to build an international network, but to develop real relationships and friendships across jurisdictions from the start.
Founding and co-leading the Young Lawyers Group was a particularly rewarding part of that. It allowed me to actively contribute to the network, connect with peers at a similar stage, and create a space for exchange. Many of those connections have grown into strong professional and personal relationships that I still rely on today. These relationships have made a real difference – not only in terms of collaboration and business development, but also for my own development.
Interact Law has never felt like just another network to me; it’s a community built on trust and long-term relationships. I’m very grateful for that and excited to stay involved now as a member of the Board.
